Welcome to Princeton R-V Schools!
The current financial crisis facing school districts throughout the country
has not left the Princeton R-V School District untouched. Due to the current budget crunch that has affected our district
since former Governor Bob Holden decimated our finances in 2003, we simply don't have the money to run full bus service, update
technology, take our students on field trips, purchase new textbooks, replace and retain teachers, or continue to operate
our schools two libraries because funding is needed for an additional school librarian. Basically, we have no wiggle-room
for any supplies, although we are excited to announce several new projects of which we are very proud.
First, the creation of the Eddie Allen Reservoir, which will provide an excellent
opportunity for our students to compete in outdoor sports that would not normally be available to them such as water skiing,
boat racing, water polo, swimming, hand-fishing, water football, water baseball, water softball, water golf, water track,
water shot put, water pole vault and hold-your-breath contests. More sports will be added later as coaches become available.
The reservoir will be fed naturally from our own water source: the new Princeton R-V Elementary School campus which was built
with an eye to the future, in a flood plain.
The creation of the Eddie Allen Reservoir also permits us to complete our
second project: the construction of a modest all weather track that the Princeton students have been in need of for a long
time. The new all-weather track will be constructed in the new floating Eddie Allen Stadium, which will float on the surface
of the new Eddie Allen Reservoir. The two-lane, three foot wide all-weather-track will run the entire periphery of the football
field's playing surface and can be used whenever track activities do not interfere with any Tiger Football activities or related
facility maintenance. The track kids would like to thank the voters of Princeton who overwhelmingly passed the bond issue
for their new facility by six votes.
